The Kentucky
Council for Children with Behavior Disorders (KYCCBD)
The KYCCBD is a state subdivision of the Council for Children with
Behavior Disorders (CCBD) and the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC).
Though we are a membership organization, visitors should find useful
information related to children with behavior disorders in our on-line
newsletter.
Council
for Children with Behavior Disorders (CCBD)
CCBD is an international professional organization committed to promoting
and facilitating the education and general welfare of children and youth
with behavioral and emotional disorders. CCBD, whose members include
educators, parents, mental health personnel, and a variety of other
professionals, actively pursues quality educational services and program
alternatives for persons with behavioral disorders, advocates for the
needs of such children and youth, emphasizes research and professional
growth as vehicles for better understanding behavioral disorders, and
provides professional support for persons who are involved with and
serve children and youth with behavioral disorders..
Council
for Exceptional Children (CEC)
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international
professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes
for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or
the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets
professional standards, provides continual professional development,
advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities,
and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for
effective professional practice.
Kentucky
Council for Exceptional Children (KY-CEC)
The primary purpose of this council shall be to advance the education
of individuals with exceptionalities and to promote related educational,
scientific, and charitable purposes. Specifically, the council intends
to assist and provide support to The Council for Exceptional Children
(CEC) in all its efforts on behalf of persons with exceptionalities,
and to participate in all appropriate governance activities of CEC subject
to the generalsupervision and control of CEC.
